Lorry for Life appeal
Yes your old phone " Dead or Alive" can make a difference: Specialised Vehicles are urgently needed to move resources and aid to where it is most needed. Your old phone or donation can help us to reach our target and make it happen.
Lorries for Life is a unique offer, made possible by generous support from Mercedes UK, Rossetts Commercials and Dixons. Computers for Charities recieves over 400 requests for help every day, 365 days per year. How do you respond to such need? and provide support where it is needed. It is not easy...
Computers for Charities urgently needs to raise the equivalent of £50,000 to purchase a modified 7.5 tonne lorry, which will make a difference. The vehicle will aid movement not just of computers but also essential aid items, desperately needed as Winter draws in. Eastern Europe is a place of extreme temperatures, hot in the summer and very cold in winter.
As we undertake our third Christmas shoebox appeal for the elderly and associated items, the need for such transportation is very apparent.
The vehicle suited for the job is waiting on a forecourt in Worthing, with only weeks remaining before shipments need to be under way funds are now needed to secure the purchase.
Pleges and support would be most welcome and invaluable at this time. To support either donate on line or contact Simon Rooksby for further information. Simon@computersforcharities.org or Tel: 01323 840641
Mimoza is a remarkable lady, born blind in Eastern Europe. She was classified as a no hoper, disabled and worthless. They got her wrong, greatly underestimating her Vision and determination to improve opportunities for Visually impaired and blind peoples in her country. The "School of Light" is a school for the blind, a first but she urgently needs equipment and resources to equip the place.
This story outlines the reality and bleakness being faced by countless Children and adults living with disability and hardship. Can you imagine how it must feel to be shunned by family, community and state, a life of total isolation and confinement? What a waste.
We need your help today to support the Mimoza's of this world ……It’s not just phones we need, Further equipment required: The needs are many, Braille equipment including printers, football shirts for teenagers, medical supplies, audio recording and audio cassette copying equipment, we can use it. And more besides...Just 4% of mobile phones are recycled in the UK. In plain terms millions of old, broken or just unwanted and unloved mobile phones across the country are laying in cupboards and drawers gathering dust. Such a waste when they could be put to such good use !!!! Send them in
